KENPO TRAINING CAMP 2027
16-17-18 April 2027
We are delighted to invite you to our International Kenpo Training Camp, taking place in April 2027.
The event will be hosted in the historic city of Exeter, nestled in the beautiful county of Devon in South West England. Often described as “the city in the country, by the sea,” Exeter offers the perfect blend of urban charm and natural beauty. If you're considering turning your visit into a holiday, Devon is wonderfully accessible: explore its two stunning coastlines or the rolling countryside, which contrasts dramatically with the rugged beauty of the national parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Exeter itself is a vibrant mix of ancient and modern. Founded by the Romans around 50 BCE as Isca Dumnoniorum, it later became a Saxon settlement after the Romans withdrew nearly 400 years later. The city faced Viking raids, including the notable Battle of Pinhoe. The last time England was conquered during the Norman invasion of 1066, William the Conqueror established Rougemont Castle as a strong hold on his arrival in Exeter.
In the 12th century, construction began on the magnificent Exeter Cathedral,
and also the Guildhall.
The Guildhall is today recognised as the oldest municipal building in England that is still in continuous use. It is also the location of the first place SGM Parker demonstrated Kenpo for a radio broadcast!!
For history enthusiasts, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) Exeter's world class museum and art gallery is an absolute must to visit. Just a two minute walk from the camp hotel, it houses fascinating collections spanning natural history, archaeology, and global cultures, all beautifully displayed in a stunning Victorian building.
Exeter's city centre is also a food lover's paradise, with a fantastic array of restaurants and eateries offering cuisines from around the world all within a short walking distance of the camp hotel.
If you'd like to venture a little further, Exeter's Georgian Quay is an easy 15-minute stroll away. This picturesque historic quayside buzzes with atmosphere, riverside walks, and plenty of spots to relax. Don't miss the chance to try a legendary "dustbin lid" pizza from "On The Waterfront", one of those enormous, shareable (or heroic solo) pies that might just require a taxi ride back to the hotel!
